Sugar and Spice

Earlier today, my Mom asked me if I could make a card for a friend who just had a baby girl.  I, of course, said "SURE"!  So when I got home from work, I whipped up this card using Carta Bella's Baby Mine line, a doily, some machine stitching, and a seam binding bow with baker's twine and natural twine.  Easy!
I like making baby girl cards because they're so soft and sweet just like babies.  Who doesn't LOVE a newborn baby, right?  Oooo.....I could just squish them, they're so sweet.  I can't wait for the day that I have a sweet little baby of my own to have, hold, spoil and love.

I have a few challenges where I can share this card.

Little Scrap Pieces - Show It Off Saturday Linky Party

Word Art Wednesdays - Challenge #193 - Anything Goes Family Friendly

Thanks for taking a look at my little card, and please leave me a comment so that I know where to find you.  I need more blog followers and blog friends.  So if you follow me, I will certainly do the same for you!

Have a creative week,

Sierra

Friends Are Golden

One really fun trend in scrapbooking and card-making right now is the use of GOLD.  I've been seeing it everywhere, and it's SO pretty.  I found some really awesome shiny gold paper at Michael's, and thought I'd try using it with some of my die-cuts.  I just love how it catches the light and shimmers and shines in real life.  I don't know if the photograph really captures it, but it's quite lovely.
These cards were created using Crate Paper pattern papers, vellum and tag, some machine stitching, a 3-D jar which is also from Michael's, and the doily was also cut from the gold paper using the French Pastry Doily Die-Cut from Cheery Lynn Designs.
These are the challenges where I'm linking up:
Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge #194 - Silver And/Or Gold - I used the Cheery Lynn Designs French Pastry Doily Die-Cut and used shiny gold paper
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says "Sparkle And Shine" - This card really sparkles and shines with the shiny gold paper I used to die-cut my sentiment and doily.
Word Art Wednesdays Challenge Blog - Challenge #193 - Anything Goes
I'm happy you're here, and I'd just love to have you become my new blog follower.  Have a wonderful week!

Time To Celebrate

As I've mentioned before, I have a very large extended family with LOTS of aunts, uncles and cousins.  Around here, it seems like it's almost always somebody's birthday.  I'm sure that some of you can relate to that, right?  I try to make a lot of Birthday cards so that I will always have some on hand when parties sneak up on me.  I made this one for a cousin, and I plan to make a couple more with these same papers so that I'll have extras.
I used some October Afternoon pattern papers, red seam binding, a kraft card (for the base), an OA journal card and chipboard, and more OA paper to cut my flowers.  I inked the edges of the flowers, and added some antique buttons that I picked up at a local antique store.  The inside is stamped with a Happy Birthday sentiment, and here is a look at that (including my "retro rubber").
These are the challenges I've found where this card will work:

Word Art Wednesdays Challenge #193 - Anything Goes/Family Friendly

Little Scrap Pieces Saturday Linky Party - Linky Party - Happy Birthday.  I wasn't quite sure if this week specifically called for a Birthday card, but I made one just in case it was.  I always love playing along in this challenge.

Stamp & Create Challenge - Patterns - I used pattern papers to create my patterns

Retro Rubber Challenge Blog - Challenge #19 - Inspire Me With Color - I used the lovely colors in this challenge, and as I stated above, my "retro rubber" is a SUPER old Happy Birthday stamp that I used on the inside of my card.

Paper Sweeties Challenge #33 - Red White & Blue.  My colors are less traditional than the patriotic version, but still qualifies.  I always love to play along at PS when I can.

CropStop Linky Party #6 - Anything Goes - I used baker's twine, ink and washi tape (which are all sold at CropStop).  They carry A LOT of great products.

Paper Issues - This is the most AWESOME challenge - "Chip Off The Old Block" - I decided to interpret this challenge by using CHIPboard on the front of my card.  I also thought the retro Celebrate card and airmail touches were cute, and reminded me of days gone by (chip off the old block).  So....I hope this makes sense to someone other than just me.....LOL.  By the way, check out the AWESOME store at Paper Issues!

OK.....that's all for today.  Thank you for visiting my blog.  I would be honored to have you become my new blog follower, and I would also be willing to follow you.  Just follow, and leave me a message.  I enjoy making new blog friends.

Turning Four is FUN

I have a cousin, Amelia, who will be turning 4 this weekend.  I wanted to make her a special card to help her celebrate her big day.  She looks up to me, and I adore her.  So, I'm confident she will like this card because she always asks me to buy her a gumball when we go to a store that has one.  It's just something I always do for her.  This little vintage gumball machine is from Crate Paper.  I stamped the birthday sentiment in Black Ink, added some ribbon and baker's twine, a wooden Tim Holtz button for the number 4, a little circus ticket, and pattern papers from Crate Paper.
I'm entering these FUN challenges where my card fits their themes:

Word Art Wednesday Challenge #192 - Anything Goes/Family Friendly

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Anything Goes - I wanted to enter this challenge since I used this adorable vintage gumball machine and an old-fashioned shabby/vintage feel to this card.

Stamp & Create Challenge Blog - July Challenge/Patterns - I enjoy using lots of great pattern papers and combining different backgrounds (polka dots, words, stripes, etc.) and also loved the patterns on all these fun elements.

CropStop Challenge Blog - Linky Party #6 - I used baker's twine and ink as found in the CropStop store.

I hope that you are enjoying a good week whether you're at work, watching your kids, retired, or anywhere in between; enjoy each day God has given you.  And always have fun making your cards.  I know I sure do!

Until next time,
Sierra

I Have Furry Friends

Who doesn't love furry friends?  Personally, I have several and I love each and every one of them.  I'm also a lover of almost all animals; so I was delighted to see the theme this week (Furry Friends) over at Simon Says Stamp.  I made my card with some Woodland Park products from October Afternoon, which I also LOVE!
I added chipboard, pattern papers, inked everything, and stamped the sentiment onto the bottom of the card.  I am going to link my card to the following challenges that I've found where my card will work for the challenge themes.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says Furry Friends - I used some chipboard BUNNIES, which are some of my favorite furry friends because they are SO soft and fluffy!

City Crafter Challenge Blog - Challenge #270 - Woodland Animals

Little Scrap Pieces Linky Party - Anything Goes - Saturday Linky Party
