Pretty Little Studio Card

I was visiting the blog of a friend, and learned of this fabulous sketch challenge over at Pretty Little Studio.  I had won some of the sweet vintage images in a challenge, and decided to create a card using them to enter.  I incorporated black cardstock, patterned paper, some tags made from various coordinating colors of cardstock, a bow of jute, and the sweet Pretty Little Studio image.  The sentiment was made using a Cheery Lynn Designs die-cut (blessings).
These are all the challenges I found where I am able to enter this sweet vintage card.  I hope you will play along as well.
Pretty Little Studio Sketch Challenge For May - I used their Soda Shoppe image as my focal point

Feel Better Soon

This card I made is a combination between a sewing-lover's card and a feel better soon card.  The reason for this is because I have a friend who had Carpal Tunnel surgery, and she loves to sew but can't because of her healing process.  She hasn't been in her sewing room for almost a week now, and she misses it so much.  I wanted to send her this card to encourage her to feel better soon, and to let her know that I understand how much she's missing her creative time.  Nobody ever wants to have surgery, but hopefully this will repair the damage done to her hands and wrists, etc., from this condition.  The doctors have told her it will be a few weeks before she's feeling normal again.  That's no fun, and I wanted to do something to cheer and encourage her.
I used some really old supplies for this.  The pattern papers and chipboard are from a Cosmo Cricket line called Material Girl.  The stamp (Feel Better Soon) is from Verve stamps.  I also did some machine stitching.  That's about it....pretty easy.
I'm going to enter my card in some challenges, as listed below:
Word Art Wednesdays Challenge Blog - Challenge #184 - Anything Goes/Family Friendly
Crop Stop Linky Party #4 - Anything Goes

Little Scrap Pieces - Show It Off Saturday Linky Party

Stamp & Create Challenges - May Challenge:  May Flowers - I used some chipboard flowers at the top of my card

Crate Paper Poolside

I don't know about you, but I am absolutely SMITTEN with the new Poolside line by Crate Paper.  It's SO cute, and has lots of great pieces that any crafter can implement into their projects.  If you haven't seen it yet, I highly suggest stopping by the Crate Paper Blog to take a closer look.  You will soon fall it love with it as I have.
My card was created using three different patterned papers from the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes collection paper pad, the Mason Jar, gold sequins, and 3-D embellishments are also from Crate Paper's Poolside line, and the Guest Check journaling card is from Crate Paper's 12x12 Market Collection (Tag Sale).  The only things I used that are not from Crate Paper are the paper straw (which I tucked into the pocket on the mason jar), the white, teal and pink sequins, and the pink stick pin.  Everything else is Crate Paper - which is one of my most FAVORITE companies EVER!  Aren't these embellishments just the cutest?
I'm linking my card to the following challenges:

I'm also entering it in the Crate Paper Poolside Mason Jar Challenge that you can read about on the Crate Paper Blog.

Gorgeous Colors

When I saw the gorgeous inspiration photo over at Simon Says Stamp this week, I was really hoping I would find the time to create a card so I could play along.  I barely made it, but I got a card done that I created because of their inspiration.  I haven't added a sentiment yet because I'm not exactly sure if it will be a birthday card, or what.  I will add that when I'm ready to send it out.
I used Crate Paper, Oh Darling supplies as well as some felt die-cut flowers, May Arts natural jute, a Recollections leaf, and some vintage buttons in the centers of the flowers.
I'm entering this card here:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Inspiration Color Swatch - I absolutely LOVE this color palette

The Ribbon Girl Challenge Blog - May Challenge - Aqua Color Inspiration - And I used natural jute trim (as my ribbon)

My Favorite Things

Along with "raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens", scrapbooks and die-cuts and hot glue in my kitchen" are a few a my favorite things.  I absolutely LOVE all the sweet things carried at My Favorite Things, and I just LOVE to play along in their challenges, although I don't often get the time.
Being a teacher is also one of my favorite things; but it definitely limits my crafting time because if I'm not in the classroom or in meetings, I'm usually buried knee-deep in paper work.  But tonight, I found some spare time to create a card after work.  I followed this sketch that I found on the My Favorite Things Blog.

I followed the sketch, and used some Bazill for the background.  I added some pattern paper underneath a piece of vellum for the big strip going vertically.  I used pink and green Bazill for the horizontal strips.  I machine stitched the edges.  Next, I used one of my absolute FAVORITE die-cuts from My Favorite Things for the flower accents (which I placed where the little circles appear on the sketch).  The flower die-cut that I used is their sweet Mini Hybrid Heirloom Roses which I cut from wool felt.  I also cut some little leaves for the flowers, and placed pearl accent stickers in the centers.
Here are the challenges where I will be sharing this card:
My Favorite Things Challenge Blog - Wednesday Challenge #227 - I used the MFT Mini Heirloom Roses die-cut on my card.  Details and links found above.
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Let's Get Sentimental.  I used a stamped sentiment.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Don't Abandon The Coral - I didn't!
Paper Sweeties Challenge - Celebrate Mom's - I made a card to say thank you to my mom.  She's always doing the sweetest things.  I used a Paper Sweeties stamp for my sentiment.

V's Sweet Ideas May Challenge - Emboss It - I embossed my stamped sentiment.
