Glassine Treat Bag

I have been in love with these large glassine bags for so long.  I've seen other people use them on projects, and have wanted to buy some for myself.  I finally found them on EBay, and ordered a whole bunch of them.  I thought this would be a great idea for giving cards and small gifts to friends.  Since I usually make a card for people when they have a Birthday, Anniversary, etc., now I can decorate the large glassine bag to match, and put the card inside.  They're SO pretty.
So for this project, I decorated the large glassine bag with some Simple Stories products, a die-cut doily, flowers, a seam binding ribbon, and ink.  I look forward to giving this to my friend at work; and because the bag is so big, I can put her card in there, as well as a gift card, some candy, or whatever.  Love these bags!

I'm going to link this project to some challenges I found this week:

Sketch Saturday Week #352 With Simon Says Stamp - This sketch is SO cute!  This is even my second project using this adorable sketch.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - B is For.....BUTTERFLY - I have a BUTTERFLY on my BAG, as well as a BOW

Getting Sketchy

I don't enter sketch challenges very often because I don't feel that I'm very good at them.  But I really do want to push myself to try more new things, and to get out of "comfort zone" so to speak.  So, I found a really fun sketch challenge that I chose to try.  I have played along there before.  I love using kraft paper and making "shabby" type cards.  This is what I created this afternoon.
My card uses light kraft paper, October Afternoon pattern papers, a die-cut doily, some burlap ribbons, and a SUPER cute antique milk cap.  I absolutely LOVE antiques, and any time I can incorporate them into a craft project or card, that's super fun for me.  This doesn't have a whole lot of color to it, but it's a lot of fun.  The sentiment is a clear sticker.  I also did a bit of machine stitching on my card.

These are the challenges I'm entering:

Remember

I used the sentiment "Remember" on this card because I didn't "remember" I had some sweet Crafty Secrets images tucked away in my super stash that I hadn't used.  I used this adorable little girl image from Crafty Secrets to create my card and to play along in their challenge this month.  It's just lovely, isn't it?  They have the sweetest images ever, and if you've never checked them out, I would suggest that you pop on over, pick up some goodies (or even the freebies) and play along in their challenge.  There aren't nearly enough entries in this FABULOUS challenge, and you really should grab a Crafty Secrets image and play along.  They offer "freebies" every month, but I would suggest an excuse for some SHOPPING!!  LOL  I won some images in last month's challenge, and haven't had a chance to use them yet; but I WILL be enjoying them and entering this challenge EVERY month.  I hope you will play along as well.
So, I created my card with some Carta Bella "Sew Lovely" patterned papers that I picked up at Hobby Lobby using a coupon (of course), and they are just SO precious.  The colors really complimented this sweet Crafty Secrets image.  The rub-on sentiment is also from my stash.  They're made by Lasting Impressions, and are called "Scrappy Rubs".  I also used Prima lace, May Arts burlap jute, seam binding, flowers, and some machine stitching and inking of the edges to give it a shabby look.  Some of cards turn out cuter than others.  I think it has to do with the sweet supplies I use.  With Crafty Secrets, you just can't go wrong!

These are the challenges where I'm entering my card:

Be Sweet

For this little ice cream cone card, I combined a couple of different techniques I saw this week for challenges I really wanted to enter.  First, the challenge at Papertrey Ink was all about doodling around stamped images.  I used Papertrey Ink's Sweet As Can Be Stamp Set to create my ice cream cone, scoops and (sweet) sentiment.  Once it was stamped, I water colored it by using the water color technique shared at V's Sweet Ideas. I hand painted in the ice cream scoops with water color - a very new technique for me.  Next, I doodled around the stamped ice cream scoops and cone. The word "Be" is a Simon Says Stamp die-cut that I worked into the sentiment.  I enjoyed both of these great techniques, and was delighted to be able to play along in these challenges.  It's fun implementing different techniques together.
Here are the challenges where I'm able to share my card:

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #203 - Doodling With Stamps - I used my PTI Sweet As Can Be Stamp Set, and I doodled around the cone, each scoop of ice cream, and the edge of my card

Word Art Wednesdays Challenge #173 - Anything Goes

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Special Lady/Girly - I used a Simon Says Stamp "Be" die-cut

V's Sweet Ideas Challenge Blog - Challenge #32 - Water Colors - I water colored my ice cream scoops and the edge of my card

Thank you for stopping by today!
