You're A Hoot!

I have a friend who absolutely LOVES owls.  She's always doing the sweetest little things to brighten my day and be a blessing, so I wanted to do something to show her how much I appreciate her.  I found these little owl stickers at Michaels, and decided to make a card for her.  I also gave her a gift card just to say thank you for everything.  Here's the card I made.
I started with a kraft card, and then matted a piece of kraft chipboard to a piece of ivory cardstock.  Then I attached the sweet little owl and leaf stickers, and made the sentiment using a piece of the same ivory cardstock and an older MFP sentiment stamp for you're a hoot.  That's all.....very simple and quick.  But I know she will love it, and that's what really matters.

These are the only challenges I found where I could share my card.  Please wish me luck!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog - Challenge #299 - Cute Critters - These are my friend's most favorite "cute critters", and I hope she likes it.  Cute critters are always fun!

Papertake Weekly Challenge Blog - Take Your Pick - Out of the three choices, I chose Kraft Card.  I love using kraft cards and kraft paper for a natural look.  The other choices are Color or Sketch.  I hope you will play along!

Word Art Wednesdays Challenge Blog - Challenge #172 - Anything Goes

Crop Stop - 1st Linky Party (Come and play along) - I used Scor-Tape which is a fabulous product that everyone needs.  You can cut it to the exact size you need.  I was amazed at how many great products are sold at Crop Stop.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  Have a great week!

Cute Critter Mets PTI Tutorial

I was once again inspired by the tutorial shared this week at Papertrey Ink, and just had to throw my hat in he ring.  I clearly realize that my cards are nowhere near the level of the designers on this fabulous team.  However, I still want to win SO badly, and since I really enjoy their tutorials and their products, I continue to play along and hope for the best.  I'm not holding my breath, believe that!  But if you never try, then you can't expect to ever win anything.  So for now, a girl can dream.  Right?
I picked up these patterned papers at Michaels a while back, and haven't had an opportunity to use them yet.  They went really well with this stamp set I had (elephant), so it worked out great.  I machine stitched the papers together and inked them.  Next, I die-cut a PTI doily on cream paper and stamped my elephant.  The border and banner technique from PTI was created using some tulle, wool felt die-cut stars (a PTI die) and some vellum with rub-ons for the sentiments.

These are the challenges I found where I can share this card:

Nichole Heady's Papertrey Ink Challenge Blog - Make It Monay #202 - Anchoring With Borders and Banners - The Papertrey Ink products I used include their doily die-cut, stars border die-cut, and banner die-cut.

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog - Challenge #299 - Cute Critters - I used patterned paper with cute critters, and I stamped my elephant (cute critter) onto a doily

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - "Add a Little Texture" - It's always fun to add elements that give cards texture and help them pop off the paper a bit more.  Great challenge!

Little Scrap Pieces - Saturday Linky Party - Come by and play along!

Thanks SO MUCH for stopping by, and please know that if you leave me a comment I will also visit your blog.  And if you become my follower, I will also become your follower.  As you can see......I NEED FRIENDS!!!!  LOL

Valentine Kisses

I figured that I'd better get busy and finish all the Valentine's that I need.  There have been a few challenges here and there where I can link them, so I decided to make another.  This one is a basic card with hearts, glitter, a tag, seam binding, and sweetness.
I found a few challenges where this project will fit this week.

The Kraft Outlet Challenge #210 - Take Your Pick - I included a doily, glitter, ribbon, red and a tag (so more than three), but they go together so well.  My Kraft Outlet products include the kraft tag, Winter White seam binding, and kraft card base.

Little Scrap Pieces Show It Off Saturday Linky Party - Anything Goes - I love this sweet challenge for a chance to win some of Karen's sweet seam binding collection.

Pile It On Challenge Blog Challenge #55 - Use a Bow - I LOVE using bows, and I usually add one of some sorts to my cards.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I really appreciate your time, and I hope you will leave me a comment to let me know you were here.

Valentine Sweetness

I haven't really made many Valentine's yet, so this little project was a real treat for me.  Well, in all actuality, it will be a treat for a friend at work.  But I sure had fun making it.  I used a Small Tin Heart from Papertrey Ink, and decorated it with a free digital image available this week at Crafty Secrets Blog.
I printed it and hand-cut the image, then placed it on top of the Small Tin Heart.  I also printed the free patterned paper and cut it to fit the width of the Small Tin Heart.  Then, I hot glued and tied some thin red gingham ribbon around the edge to create a big bow.  The lid is still removable so that I can put some Valentine's candy hearts in the container for gift-giving.
I'm linking my little tin heart project in the following challenges:

Crafty Secrets All You Need Is Love February Linky Party - Using the free patterned paper and Valentine heart image for my project

Nichole Heady/Papertrey Ink - February Release Challenge - I incorporated the colors from the first Color Inspiration Board (although the black, blue and green are far more subtle), and used the third sketch where you wrap tiny tags with twine around a larger tag.  I just incorporated it into a project rather than a card.  My Papertrey Ink products are the Small Heart Tins and the Tiny Tags Dies I cut and hung from the project to comply with the rules.

Word Art Wednesday #169 - Anything Goes

The Kraft Journal #209 - Valentine's Challenge/Love Makes The Word Go 'Round - I used Buff Ivory Coverweight Cardstock from The Kraft Outlet to cut my mini tags.

Classy Cards 'N Such - Challenge #70 - Shabby Chic Heart - From Classy Cards 'N Such I used Baker's Twine and Fire Engine Red Glitter and Crystal Ice Ultra Fine Glitter.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I'm filling my shopping cart at PTI and PRAYING that I might win.  I'm crossing my fingers, and hoping for the best!

Have a wonderful week, my crafty friends!

Guest Designing at Paper Sweeties

I was SO excited to be December's challenge winner at Paper Sweeties, and it seems that I'm the last stop on their February Release Blog Hop.  If you did arrive at my blog from Paper Sweeties, I'm sure glad you're here!  But if you just happened to stop by, I'm even more excited that you've found me!  I picked out some new goodies from their shop with the gift certificate I won, and paired those new items with one of my older stamp sets, and this is the card that I created.
The patterned papers and button are all from October Afternoon.  The chipboard and paper clip are both from Recollections by Michael's, the (love) letter stickers are Basic Grey, and the rest is from Paper Sweeties.  The October Afternoon button at the bottom of my card has a piece of Robin's Egg Baker's Twine in its center which is tied into a sweet little bow.
I used the sweet You Make Me Smile Stamp Set to create the center of my heart.  I stamped the XOXO stamp from this set onto muslin with red ink, and then surrounded the heart using two Pink & White Chenille Candy Canes creating a heart, and then surrounded that with a row of seafoam rick-rack.  I just LOVE the texture of stamping on muslin/fabric.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I really appreciate your visit, and I'd really LOVE to have you as a new Blog Follower.  I'd be more than happy to stop by your blog and become your new follower in return.  It's SO much fun making new blog friends.

I'm sharing my card in the following challenges:

Really Reasonable Ribbon - Challenge #110 - Hearts & Ribbons
