So Sweet

I always love the soft sweet color combination of pink and teal.  I have some of these sweet Crate Paper products that were just calling out to me to play with them.  I created my card using two different patterned papers (although the striped paper is hard to see under the straw), some vellum overlay pieces, a ticket sticker, chipboard arrow, and then I added a piece of gathered ribbon on top of those borders.  I just LOVE this sweet trim.  I found it the other day at Michael's on clearance for .99 cents, so I bought it in this pretty teal, a bright pink, and a cream color.
They're SO cute, and they each came on a wooden spool that I can use later to make a cute little craft.  I added a paper straw with pink hearts that I picked up at Target yesterday (also $1), and then some teal baker's twine to hold my vellum heart tag that has a rub on and some little pearl gem accents.
Here's a closer look at the tag.  It's just SO soft and sweet, and most of the time you can't see all the sweet little touches on a person's cards unless you zoom in.  I love getting a closer look at things so find out exactly how someone did something, or what products they use.
I can look at a card or project, and then look at it again and notice things I missed the first time.  Especially when there are close-up photos like this that help me see what I'm looking at.....I don't want to miss a thing!

I will be entering a few challenges with this card.  I don't know of a lot of different challenges, but I enter the ones I can.

It's Winter in Minnesota

I've heard a lot of my blogging friends say that it doesn't feel like Winter where they live, and quite honestly; I'm a little bit jealous when I hear others say it's warm and sunny where they live.  I'd love to get away to warmer weather.  But where I live, in Southern Minnesota, there is NO mistaking the fact that it is Winter.  It's been below zero most days, foggy, and the sun is barely peeking through the clouds.  You don't even have to go outside to know it's Winter in Minnesota!
Nonetheless, I have been seeing several Winter-themed challenges lately, and I wanted to enter.  I don't have a whole lot of time for crafting; especially during the week, but I did manage to get a little project finished so that I could play along in these challenges.  I made a cute little Library Pocket and decorated it.  The reason I like making these is because I give a lot of books as gifts, and you can adhere these Library Cards to the inside of a book you're giving.  That way, the person will always remember who bought them the book; and you can even write a note on the Library Card insert so that they remember the occasion of the book giving, and think of you when the read.

These are the challenge I've found where I can enter my Library Pocket:

The Kraft Journal Challenge Blog - Challenge #207 Winter - I used several items sold at The Kraft Outlet including Library Pocket and Library Card, seam binding, Natural Hemp Cord

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge It's A Guy Thing - This Library Pocket will be attached to the inside of a book for gift-giving, and can be used for a guy (or really for anyone)

V's Sweet Ideas Challenge Blog Challenge #30 Something New - I used Library Pockets that I just got for Christmas

Word Art Wednesdays - Challenge #166 Anything Goes

Little Scrap Pieces Saturday Linky Party Anything Goes

Red Carpet Studios Challenge Blog Challenge #87 Frozen/Use Glitter - I used glitter on my snowman

Scrappy Moms Stamps Terrific Tuesday Challenge - Think Warm - Yes, I'm thinking "outside the box" but this whole post is all about "Thinking Warm" because while I'm buried in the snow, I'm thinking about all my lucky blog friends who live where it's warm and dreaming about visiting one of those warm places!

Thanks for visiting me today.  I'd love to have you become a follower, and I will also visit your blog and follow you.  I appreciate having you stop by and leave a comment.

Teal and Snowflakes

Hello, everyone!  I hope you're all enjoying your week.  It was my first week back at work (school) after the nice long holiday.  I wanted to make a card for a couple of challenges.  I hope you've all had time to do some crafting as well.

I created my card using a teal patterned paper and then made "icicles" all around the outer edges of my card.  I put a doily (cut in half) and then added a seam binding bow and some felt snowflakes. The sentiment is a rub-on from Melissa Frances.  They're my favorite rub-ons and they're getting very difficult to find.
I also wanted to take a close-up photo to show my "icicles" that I made on the edges of the card using Elmer's glue and ultra-fine glitter.  I thought it turned out cute.
I'm entering these challenges today:

Classy Cards 'N Such Challenge Blog - Challenge #66 - Teal Snowflakes - I didn't actually have any teal snowflakes, so I used teal patterned paper, and added snowflakes.  The CCNS products I used are white seam binding, Scor-Tape and ultra-fine diamond glitter.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says Something New - I used my new ultra-fine glitter I just got for Christmas

Word Art Wednesdays - Challenge #165 - Anything Goes

Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog - Challenge #343 - Sketch - I really liked this sketch, and had a lot of fun designing my card around it.

Thanks for visiting me!

Thank You - New Challenges

Hurray for me!  I actually found a few more challenge blogs where I can share some of my projects.  I've been stuck in a rut for a while entering the same few challenges over and over again.  I was really excited to find a few new ones, so I'm going to enter my card here in the hopes of FINALLY winning something.  And if nothing else, possibly making some new blog friends.  I made this card using some patterned papers, seam binding, a button, and a rub-on sentiment.  It's very simple, but it meets the requirements for these challenges and it's also a super useful card for me.  I always need LOTS of thank-you cards to send out.
Words 2 Scrap By - Challenge #13 - #youchoosetheword(s) - I love using the hash tag.  It's SO trendy right now, and I have a hash tag die cut, so it worked out perfectly.  I made a card that says #thankyou

Stamped Blessings by Chris Franco - Amusing Challenge: Thank You - I've been looking everywhere for some heart-shaped doilies, and to actually have the chance to win some is BEYOND WONDERFUL.  What a great challenge.  It seems like it was just made for me!

The Kraft Journal Challenge - Challenge #205 - Thank You - This week's challenge at The Kraft Journal is THANK YOU and I used some of The Kraft Outlet's Natural Hemp Cord on my project.  What a perfect fit.

Word Art Wednesdays - Challenge #164 - Anything Goes

Little Scrap Pieces - Show It Off Saturday Linky Party - Anything Goes

I really appreciate you stopping by my blog today, and hope that you will visit me again real soon.  I'm grateful for any comments, and LOVE having new followers too.

Have a great week!

Happy New Year

I would like to wish everyone a happy and blessed new year.  I hope that 2015 brings you all the very best life has to offer, and that you will each find all the happiness you can imagine in the coming year.  I have sure been enjoying this two-week break from school.  Being a teacher is a very rewarding job, but it sure doesn't allow me a lot of time for crafting.  It's so nice to be able to sit in my basement craft room and make some cards.
I've been noticing that there are some great challenges out there with a Happy New Year theme, so I'm going to enter my card in the ones I know about.  If I had more spare time, I would look on the internet for more of them.  I tend to enter the same challenges all the time, but that's only because I don't have a lot of free time to "surf the net" as they say.

Classy Cards N Such Challenge #65 - New Year's Challenge - I used bling (rhinestones) that are carried at CCNS as well as seam binding as carried at CCNS.

The Kraft Journal Challenge Blog #204 - Happy New Year - I used Natural Hemp Cord and Buff Ivory Cardstock that are both carried at TKJ.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

Word Art Wednesdays #164 - Anything Goes

Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #109 - Looky What I Got/Ribbon

Inspired By Stamping Blog - Challenge #89 - I followed the colors from the Gingham Inspiration.  I love this color combination as well as the sweet gingham print.

Thanks for your visit to my blog!
